Join us for the duble premiere of Peter is Back, a live conversation between artist Amir Yatziv and an animated avatar inspired by Franz Kafka’s 1917 short story A Report to the Academy. The avatar, Peter, who speaks and acts spontaneously through A.I. technologies, speaks with Yatziv about his life as a former monkey, and about Peter’s journey into humanness and beyond. They also talk about bad habits and instincts, such as those you try to hide from yourself. All of this unfolds through shifts in control between actor and director, and between scripted dialogue and improvised conversation. Like in a strange road show, the performing magician brings nothing but his wild imagination and the few props he carries with him; he is in perpetual risk of losing the audience’s trust once his human flaws are exposed.

An exhibition by Amir Yatziv will take place at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo later this year, curated by Tamar Margalit.
